^^^^ hm..... interesting project and kudos for getting this far!! I don't know the answer, but it appears from the DTCs that the solution might be in the ABS coding section (perhaps?).

Clearly the Gateway module error and the error in the MIB module is related - what changes were made in the retrofit to generate this DTC? But solving this problem might be the first step (to obviate the possibility of a connection to the Sports selection issue)

Here's why I think this is an important first step in your process: I'm aware that the Polo 6C isn't built on a MQB platform, but it does have MQB-ish like characteristics ( in the structure of its CAN bus network and in some of its control modules - like the BCM and MIB). On MQB vehicles, the Sport's function can be enabled by setting to active the two adaptation channels in the MIB below:

And by setting the lower nibble of Byte 29 on the ABS module to hex 03 (0011). Now your ABS module only has 26 x Bytes, so the ABS part of the process doesn't apply - but I suspect the MIB part is necessary (I think).

The problem is that the Byte/Bit structure for the ABS module is not known, but my suggestion (for what its worth) is that you search the Ross Tech forum for autoscans of the Polo 6C with factory fitted module @ address hex14. Of course, the more autoscans that you can find the better, but if you can locate sufficient of these autoscans, see it you can find a pattern in the ABS code-strings that isn't in your module.

Will try the various codings that I can find on the subject ABS. I hope that we can resolve the invalid coding issue though I don't understand what the ABS have to do with the Sports Select function.
