  • Buying new Polo - Beats or 81TSI?

Hello all, looking at buying a new Polo. 'Downgrading' from an FPV GT 335 so a whole new ball game for me.

Wondering if the 'beats' version is worth the extra cost? Seems like all the badging is a little corny, but thinking that the extras (seats, interior, system) is worth the buy.. Also the standard Polo doesn't have a decent red in the lineup, the sunset red isn't to my liking.

I will forgo the stripe if getting the beats version FYI..

    Any advice?

I think beats audio is just marketing imo. The standard sound system is pretty good. I'd go after market if I wanted anything better but then again your jbhifi sort of stuff is pretty rubbish so if you like all the other extras and want a sub maybe it's worth it to you?? Just take most of the beats stuff as a fancy name.

Personally I drool over a custom Peerless Audio system.

Hi mate, i was in the same decision as you this week. (coming from a e90 320i msport)

the only reason i considered the beats was for the leather upholstery as the standard polos don't have that option.

Also with a large breed dog i would loose boot space due to the subwoofer taking the tyre space-saver, meaning i couldn't lower the flooring down the second level. to make that work i would have to relocate the sub and amp which if i were to do. id rather upgrade the whole sound system with a professional aftermarket system.
Maybe even looking into underseat subwoofers to free up space.

Note: the speaker quality on the beats are great (didn't play around with the EQ on the demo model)

i end up choosing the 81tsi comfortline as the price is lower and with the price difference between the two i can put towards customising it.

hope that helps clears up the thought process a little.

Thanks guys, I guess the system is just a bonus, I do like it more for the interior and colour.. I'll have to see what sort of deal the dealer can do!

great thread am currently looking at replacing my old station car a 98 Hyundai, I own a mark 6 Golf R which I love but have deiced until the Mark 8 R is released in 2019 to replace it. So for my second car i am looking between a polo tsi comfortline or a beats or a Golf TSI,

When is the next version of the Polo due for release? what prices did you negotiate for the Comfortline? Am considering the sports option upgrade

                Grats,

Just wondering, i drove a 66TSI the other day and it was horrendously slow, is the 81TSI's acceleration reasonable?

well i haven't driven a 66TSI but the 81TSI has approx 20% more power, the 81 seems fine but for me i though it was ok for what it is lol considering my main car is a R anything less feels sluggish

The seats in the Beats are the best seats I've ever sat in, in my entire life. Shame the color scheme is so awful.

I saw a beats Polo today in the car park (in flash red). A very nice looking car if I do say so, it did look pretty cool from outside. I'd probably want to remove the beats logo from the B pillar, but otherwise it looks different and I like that. For the $2k difference in price, the wheels and interior and robably worth it... the sound system is almost just a bonus

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

If there is any way possible to fork out the extra $3000 then you have to go the 88tsi. 25% more power, 1.5 seconds better 0-100, same fuel economy, alloy wheels, nicer trim, MFD, steering wheel controls.
