Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Milltek exhaust is the only one that guarantees it will be suitable for RHD, I'm going to the custom route to save some money.
Yep wagner were the coolers I were looking at actually. Spoke to Guy Harding about it post discontinuation of the 6R APR cooler. As for the milltek exhaust I have had quotes around 1200 pounds shipped from the UK, so around $2500aud delivered which was similar price to a custom exhaust here. Still I may order a muffler I like from the UK/EU and get the rest of the custom exhaust done here potentially. In my opinion the CIA's are still a rip off all around but will likely get it anyway

Let us know when you have any new information on the VWR tune. I suspect it would be similar to APR however not prepared to do anything till I see power graphs. Also any indication of the tune being compatible with most parts like HG or just VWR? I think VWR only make CIA for polo 6r and nothing else from memory.

Whilst on the topic of tuning, if anyone is interested I got a quote on Friday for a APR Stage 1 tune for $1125 installed. Seems the APR pricing has been reduced recently.

Is that for the 6R or 6C?

Interesting, do you know if that was an EOY financial special or standard price. From what tuner was that from?

I would be interested in APR at that price. OEM might be good but apr is Proven and tested. My mates apr stage 2 APR runs 13.5 second quarter, seen the slips.

That sounds a lot like the cost in USD. When I had my Stage 1 done I got a price based on the exchange rate of the day which was around $1470AUD - which equates to approx $1100USD.
                    Current: Polo GTI 6C manual, APR S1, HF Series CAI, H&R 20/40 Springs, Phillips/Konik 5000k H8, H7, DRLs
Previous: MkIV Golf 1.6, MkV Golf FSI, 6R Polo GTI

Was in AUD dollars. Im no expert on the APR situation, but I believe they have cut out the middle man here in Aus now and sell directly to the guys that work on the cars thus making the price cheaper for the consumer (this may or may not be correct).

Yeah mine was direct from APR, Harding Performance used to sell it for $1750. IMO I would wait for HP to release their OEM+ tune (in testing atm) as the APR Tune has no associated hardware or support in country.

Can confirm that's the price in AUD, got a quote myself. If the oem+ is released before Aug 21 I think? You can always swap from APR to OEM+ for a couple of $100 which sounds like a prevent decent deal to me..
