  • Hf Carbon intake

Anyone installed one if there, I need help!

Hi! I ordered mine last week - so can't help just yet - but intend on doing it myself.

Couple of APR intakes going into EA888's on youtube offer some good tips on the basic premise for our engine bay.

Let us know how it goes

Looks awesome dude, just saw the pictures and video in the other thread.

Funnily enough I just happened to stumble across the HG Motorsport website last night as it's very hard to find good 6R intakes and found both below. The thing I can't figure out is they both seem to be compatible with the Polo 6R except different prices. The only difference seems to be the size of the intake inlet but are both compatible?

The better one (with the larger intake) lists compatibility as for the 6R CAVE engine only but to my knowledge the engine bays are the same? Anyone shed light on this?

"HFI Air Intake Kit for A1 185PS, Polo 6R GTI and Ibiza Cupra R" - Small intake inlet

"VAG 1,4 TSI HFI Carbon Cold Air Intake Kit" - Large intake inlet

Fortune Automotive are 200m from my work, been thinking about going to have a chat to them about my 6C and tuning options.

How did you find them on the phone?

Anyone know if the HG intakes or parts in general will work with APR?

I don't see why not but thought I would ask

Haven't had any issues with my HG/HF Series CAI and APR tune. My APR dealer said they don't change the maps for CAI even if they offered one for polo.
As discussed in another thread HG/Bull X downpipes are LHD only.

Wow thanks for the down pipe heads up, I didn't think about that. As I was considering getting a cooler/exhaust form them as well. Wonder if the cooler piping/brackets are the same regardless of driving position, they should be. May still have to look at milltek for the full exhaust then. Going to order the HG CIA with pipercross filter soon, best intake I have seen by far.

On a side note, as they take so long to reply. I am looking at the prices on the HG website, I am assuming we do not pay the 19% VAT tax? So If I am looking at prices for gear its basically 19% less plus int shipping, that correct?

They were pretty good with emails when I bought mine.
I'm sure if you set up an account on the website it will give you the price exc. tax. but yes take off the GST.
From payment to receiving the intake took about 7 days.

If you're looking at intercoolers, I'd recommend checking out the Wagner ones, they say they bolt straight in with and use the stock piping. WagnerTuningUK - VW Polo. 599euro including shipping from Orange Tuning in Germany.

Milltek exhaust is the only one that guarantees it will be suitable for RHD, I'm going to the custom route to save some money.
