Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Aircon compressor turns off - software bug

Since new, A/C compressor has a mind of its own turning off at random times. Sometimes fixes after restarting car. Not related to anything else. Didn't bother mentioning to dealer since it was intermittent. Turns out there is a software update early December 2015. Why they can't contact owners about known issues is beyond me.

Dealer said if I'd been to them pre- December they probably would be clueless. After the fix, they know about the problem.

Not sure exactly which models are affected.
2015 Polo Comfortline 6M + Driving Comfort Package
    2011/11 Yeti 103 TDI 6M + Columbus media centre/satnav
(2008 MY09 Polo 9N3 TDI retired hurt hail damage)

They do, in the form of campaigns (recalls).

Obviously it's a very isolated issue, not common enough to warrant a campaign for.
