Engine Oil Polo GTI MY15
Hi all, I need to top up my engine oil for my GTI.Just wondering what engine oil people use, any recommendations?Cheers

You need a VW-approved 504/507 grade 5W-30 oil.
There is an alternative grade, but best to keep it simple for now.'07 Transporter 1.9 TDI

As Umai Naa said, must be VW 504/507 certified. I'd recommend Castrol Edge 5W-30 (the type with the 504/507 approval - supercheap sell it) or Penrite Enviro+ with the same 504/507 approval.Alex Aescht

This is what the 504/507 stuff looks like (I just bought this bottle today, incidentally). It's a different bottle and Supercheap call it 'Castrol Edge DPF'. Exact same oil as the VW-branded Longlife from the dealer (but cheaper)

The previous gen GTIs tended to burn a lot, with the 1.4 twincharger. I think it's normal for the 1.8T to burn a little, but if you think it's excessive you can just ask your dealer and they'll sort something out.Originally posted by tomh24 View PostAlex Aescht
