You should have a sticker for the 35C1 too, maybe they can stick it on straight
You said you had 4 VWs, I think you should only have 3.

^^^ Hahaha! If it doesn't get sorted I'm going to trade it and get a later model Polo/golf gti/r because we actually want bluetooth and some other features this car does not have. If I cannot get the gearbox fixed up, then I'll def trade it on something better at a dealer and let them fix it. I have not spent much on it and paid $13k for it, so should get out of it ok.

The saga continues. Something very dodgy has happened between the local VW dealership and the previous owner. He was denied warranty on the gearbox for slipping clutches, and the receipt that came with the car that showed work had been done on the gearbox by a transmission specialist on the Gold Coast went missing after my car was serviced in Lismore. Anyway my fall back was always with the selling dealer and the statutory warranty. Due to very detailed analysis and report from VW Lismore the selling dealer agreed to fix the transmission. They said they would fit a used one, but I think they are like hens teeth, and they did some more research and found a transmission specialist in Brisbane (don't know who it is yet) who was familiar with the VW DSG boxes and so the Polo was returned to Brisbane last week and I have had a loan car since. I'm expecting a call soon. I even offer the dealer the option to buy the car back and sell me something later and with a bit more spec, but they opted to fix the Polo. Not sure how long this car will be registered to me now, a lot depends on how it drives when I get it back.
        Regards

Well this is whats happened now. After failing to get anywhere with the local VW dealer regarding warranty on the gearbox, I had only one option which was to call the selling dealer and let him know the bad news. He wanted details so he called the VW dealer. The selling dealer, Carlins in Brisbane have been absolutely first class. They asked me to either return the vehicle or they would get it on a truck, BUT they offered a free loan car! So I drove the car to them and went back home in a 2102 Holden Cruze diesel that had only 40k on the clock, nice car, but not a VW.
Carlins repairer has had the car nearly 2 weeks now and its due to be ready Monday. I spoke to the repairer who really seem to know their business, they are a transmission repair specialist and they have connections with VW. Dave the mechanic who is working on my vehicle told me the car has been to VW for transmission warranty issues and has had the mechatronics unit replaced. The owner then had further issues with the clutches and rough shifting, seems to have been stuffed around by the VW dealer and ended up going to an inexperienced transmission repairer. This repairer replaced the flywheel(s) and clutches, but damages a couple of seals in the process. The transmission them leaked oil and the clutches have zero tolerance to oil according to Dave, and thats why my car was slipping and shifting weird. Dave has replaced the seals (there was a delay on getting one of them) then reassembled the gearbox overfilled with oil and the old clutches, to make sure that there were no leaks. Dave said that provided there were no leaks he would then reinstall the gearbox in the car and run it and make sure the box shifted properly, then he would do a software update on the box and install new clutches, road test and then return it to Carlins. Carlins will then call me and provide me with a detailed receipt and warranty for the work performed. Dave commented that of all the car dealers he works with Carlins are the best and offer outstanding customer service. I would definitely recommend them and would buy another car from them. I hope to pick up the car Mon or Tues and will report back. Dave said I should have a trouble free smooth shifting car now.
            Regards
            Steve

Well, this saga has ended well. The polo drives like a new car. Much praise for Carlins in Brisbane and their repairer QLD Automatics ask for Dave. Carlins followed up and kept me informed frequently, gave us a late model loan car, and I gave them a box of Coronas!

Good to hear it all worked out for you! Sounds like you've had a far more positive experience with your local VW dealer than the rest of us have had with ours. Glad the car drives great now!

If all of the speil that they gave you is 100% true, this is a perfect example as to why you should only ever take a a dsg to someone who knows what they're doing and there is very few repairers that do!
Good to see it worked out for you!

And now for feedback you probably won't like .... sell it now while it is working and before it breaks/act up again.

It will break again and within a much shorter time than is acceptable. Despite VW's repeated claims/denials the inherent problems with the Polo 7spd DSG has not been fixed and it is a ticking time bomb. Given this car's history, no further claims to VW, selling dealer or even the ACCC will help either. Be prepared to spend thousands next time .....

My wife's Golf TSI is over 4 years old and its 7speed DSG has never given us an issue. I have a few friends/work colleges with VW's with 7 speed DSG's and none of them have had a issues either. I do know of one that a clutch pack issue but that was caused by the owner driving it like an automatic eg; sitting stationary on a hill with sufficient accelerator to hold position, not using the brake or handbrake. I did a quick education session "it's not an auto, it's a manual, would you treat a manual clutch like that?". Seems to have worked, no issues since that I am aware of.

                      Cheers
