    GTI is a MAF sensor engine, you start venting air that's already passed the MAF and you're going to encounter fuelling problems.

    The engine will fuel for all that air that you just dumped to the atmosphere.

    If you're going plumb back then I don't see there being much point, the current unit is top notch.

      So is there a way to be able to install one without causing problems?

        It depends on what you are doing it for;

        If you are changing the BOV for increased performance (with no real noise change, hence plumb back) then you are pretty much wasting your time. The OE one is pretty damn good. If you are looking for increased performance then there are much more effective solutions, from exhaust to ECU tuning.

        If you are changing the BOV for increased noise (with no real performance increase) then you will have to live with slightly decreased fuel economy. This is due to the air lost through the BOV that the ECU is including in its fuel requirement calculations. It's not dramatic as the BOV is mostly only open at zero or low throttle, so little or no fuel is being injected.

          Doing it just for noise hoping to do dual port as I don't want the noise all the time so want to be able to adjust when I feel like it
