  • APR Stage 2 with custom downpipe?

    Hey guys,

    Just wondering if anyone has done a stage 2 on their polo gti before and used a custom turbo back instead of the APR made downpipe for their tune. Would be best if anyone with the MY15 GTI has done it but previous models will work fine as well. I just want to know for a heads up as I'm getting a custom exhaust done in a few days and might get the turbo back instead of a cat back exhaust done for prep for a stage 2 tune depending on the cost.

    APR should be able to answer your question. I suspect that any turbo back, APR, Milltek etc fitted without a stage 2 tune will result in error codes.

      In a recent email I received from HG Motorsport they indicated the GTI won't throw an error code fitted with a TBE that hasn't had an ECU tune.

      Is the ECU Flash link you have attached for the Golf R?

        If the HG motorsport runs a 400 cell HJS Catalyst in the standard position, then it wont throw a light - German market exhausts often run this.

        We will be releasing the MY15 / 16 Polo 1.8 Stage 1 & 2 (exhaust compatible) tunes within a week!

        We also have the Milltek cat back systems in stock & can order the Milltek full systems now.

          Makes sense...
          As you know I'm keen to consider an ECU tune but I'm wary of the DSG unit not handling the increased torque.
