Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Headlights on MY16 Polo Gti

    Just noticed that dipped lights are H1 and High/Main Beam is H7. FOund that out when I was going to replace my dipped with Philips Extreme Vision, the manual says H7 so I ordered H7 but come fitting time the dipped globes are on the outer side which are H1.
    Wonder if VW changed the globe types for the MY16 Gti without updating the manual?

    Had another look and there seems to be only H7 for both dipped and high beam on the Polo Gti. The dipped is on the outside reflector and the high beam is on the inside reflector. Tricky to change the dipped globe, the headlight has to be removed in order to get to the mounitng port.
