      • Have an MY16 Polo GTI DSG and have been trying to get Auto Door Lock on Takeoff working. It's not supported as a feature in the relevant settings option. It's also not mentioned in the MY16 brochure. But FWIW, I tracked down an AU market MY14 Polo brochure which clearly states that Auto Lock on Takeoff is a Dealer switchable feature for all variants including the GTI.

My dealership dropped a lappie on the car and tried a few config things to no avail. Anyone got any ideas? Can't see why the feature would be removed for MY16.

Sorry housemd, can't hep you as I'm actually looking to get into one of these little things myself (just sold my golf GTI PP).

          • Picked up my MY16 today. It was meant to be Monday but there was a delay, so they tided us over with a loaner base Polo until it came in.

Can't say I had the best experience at the dealership. I was there for almost three hours due mainly to a dispute over finance. I found out that the application fees associated with the loan were more than twice what was specified to me. 20 minutes and several angry exchanges later, the fees magically dropped by about $700.. They were also very pushy with the various insurance and warranty options, even after I made it clear I wasn't interested.

The ordeal isn't over yet either. I still have to sort out the voice control button.

            • I'm looking into the new Polo GTI. However one question remains, does anyone know when the platform is due for a larger update? Must be coming close if the last one was in 2010.

MQB platform Polo is scheduled for Euro release in 2016 (late??). Probably won't hit Australia until 2017

                • Picked up my white MY16 Polo GTI manual last week. Excellent service at the dealership. Car was prepared nicely. Enjoying the drive and still getting used to all the buttons and stuff. Still trying to decide whether the Sport suspension/Performance setting is preferred over Standard. Certainly better throttle response but ride is more jiggly (to be expected). Stop/Start is a PITA, definitely on the VCDS disable list! Still in two minds about the Sound Aktuator, may get that changed to a lower setting if possible.

                  • Hey Guys
So if a Polo's compliance date is September 2015 would you expect it to be a MY16 or MY15 ?
Is there anyway of determining this with the VIN number ?

Nope... I have an Evo X built in 2008 with a compliance of 2010 June.. With your theory I should have a MY11 Evo X but in reality it's a MY08..

Best way to tell is see if you have a “SPORT” button or a reverse camera if you have a base GTi..

                        Check your build date.....LHS B Pillar. JULY 2015 onwards means it's a MY16.

I wonder, Is this a constant time?

Is it always in July that a new model will be sold? July 2016 will be MY17?

You need to look at the build date, not compliance date

                            • My GTI has Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres compared to Continental Contisport on some of the other MY15 cars. I wonder if they changed them for MY16. What is the recommended tyre pressure in psi for S001?

At a guess - 34psi all round will be a good starting point
