Normal if you aren't buying floor stock.
You need to wait for a slot in the build queue and often they'll want to do all the AU spec vehicles in a batch (maybe not these days but that was common in the past). 1 week to deliver from the factory to the dock. 1-3 weeks at the dock depending on ship availability. 6-8 weeks cruising.

Go and order an Octavia RS and then you'll know what waiting is all about. 9-12 months.

Wow, that is a really long wait... But I havent seen much on the roads yet...

Yep! That's right. Had this one specced up but I got tired of waiting hence the GTI got a deposit

Hi I have had my Polo GTI with Driver assistance package for just about a week.

Quick question, why does the 'voice activation' button on the steering wheel, not do anything ?

My dealer told me it was a mute button but I'm still yet to see it mute anything..

I was at the dealer today and asked their techo mechanic about MirrorLink and that button on the wheel -

MirrorLink: "can get it working but the cost (for additional software/hardware) is around $350. Any app. say a gps one (CoPilot) that does mirror on the screen will not have touch function until you pull over and put the handbrake on (safety reasons). VW Australia not pushing it because it has problems working with iphones at the moment. Will need a cable connection, ie not bluetooth etc."

The voice activation button: "if you do not already use voice activation on your phone then forget about it, it's not particularly good at recognising what you are saying."

Only what I have been told today.

By the way sales person said "the 4 owners we have 'delivered' this car to are totally wrapped", myself included.

Hi guys, had a polo 9n gti, and golf 6 gti, but have been driving a Camry company car for a few years and haven't been on here for a while

Polo GTI was the best car I have had and am looking at getting a new manual.

Is it possible to get the sunroof and LED headlights without the pleather seats? They look ordinary... Also is there an upgraded stereo option? and how do the stock speakers sound?

Stereo quality depends on where you are coming from, i just came out of 3 years in a RS250 megane... i think the polo gti stereo sounds great in comparison. (i had the 9n polo gti before the megane)

DNA Tuning or Optimum Code?

The EA888 1.8tsi has been getting tuned in other chassis since 2008. The only show-stopper might be the ECU security.
