Would that just be a Tom Tom in a holder and screwed into the console?

      Answering my own post:

Price cut for new Polo GTI - motoring.com.au

$28k drive away it seems, available in April 2015. Sounds good to me.

It doesn't say that.... that's the price before onroads. So still more expensive than a ST,

Ah yes, I think I was a bit too excited and didn't read it carefully... still, price still seems ok to me. The Fiesta ST was pretty nice, but I prefer the 4 doors.

oh, this looks VERY tasty! i must say it'd be in my garage if i had the cash - all the fruit + stage 2 for cruising in what is likely to be VERY rapid comfort, alongside an Akra'd/ KW Clubsport R27 or 200 for when i feel like killing some corners.

this would make a fantastic daily for sure.

1272 kg! What does a Mk7 golf GTI weigh?

Edit.. Golf GTI weighs 1314 kg according to Caradvice.

pretty annoying to see that VW Australia has once again, left out the 3 door car lovers.

They look soo much better IMO, yes they are impractical for some - families. But for a young males or people who rarely get more than 2 people in the car there is no problem.

it wouldnt cost them anything really to bring them into Australia - once they have been ordered and what would be wrong with like a 7 week wait for one.

                      Not this argument again.
VW Brought out the Scirocco as the 3 door sports car variant and then canned it after 18 months along with the Eos because after the intial rush of people wanting a 3 door sports car or a hard roof convertible no one else wanted one.
I think they even did a petition to get the 3 door golf in and Volkswagen fell for it believing there was demand for the product when there wasn't.

It is common for Australian buyers to think ahead and buy practically because the loss of value is really large in our market so the majority of the cars are bought as the 5 door model when presented with the option.

Each model has to be crash tested and checked by the ANCAP group and then they have to store all of the parts locally that won't crossover form the 5 door (door skins/cards/glas etc) so it does cost time and money to have them brought in by VW Aus.

you're forgetting that the Scirocco is one of the ugliest cars that VW make and put on the road, that rear end is just plain awful

                          Looks are subjective.
I would rather a scirocco over the golf GTI/R any day.

You could always get a Skoda Fabia in a 3 door.

                            +1

I reckon the Scirocco looks ***** hot!

But for me the practicality of the Golf trumps the looks of the Scirocco

~$28k (plus options and onroads) for the Polo is tempting
