In terms of the straight line stuff, this thing really hauls. We timed 0-100km/h just 6.2 seconds, which is 0.1 of a second quicker than what we achieved in the previous DSG version. You could expect an even quicker time in the DSG here. Mid-range acceleration is just as impressive, with the low-rev peak torque playing a big part. If you’re looking for a quick compact hatch, we can assure you the new Polo GTI will more than suffice and quench your thirst for speed. It is properly fast.
I also believe on their website (can't find it atm) that they also test the DSG version as well.

Good to read so many people going back to manual in the updated Polo GTI. Apart from being more fun, involving, lighter and less likely to have issues - i thought manual was a dying breed......happy to see that theory thrown out the window.
No way i would be trusting the DSG 7 speed dry clutch given its past history and how many people it has burnt over the past 5 years or so.Last edited by Lucas_R; 01-09-2015, 03:34 PM.

He got a 350 because it came with a turbo 350 trans which was fairly bullet proof. Then he ordered the column shift auto because the T-bars rattled.
I have no idea why he ticked the bench seat box.
Re: muscle cars & autos. The old 4 speeds were usually ex-truck boxes. They were slow to shift & the clutch pedals were often unbelievably heavy. There was lots of lazy torque so you could even get away with a 2 speed Powerglide (one of the best gearboxes for drag racing).carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

I've only progressed with the 6C as they finally offer a manual!
