  • gearstick vibration 77tsi manual

    Hi all

brough it brand new and now 4k on the clock..found some strange and kinda annoying..just wonder any of u guys may have experinced the same thing...

ok there it is...sometimes i will feel some vibration through 2nd gear and only 2nd after i fully engaged the gear...nowhere else was vibrating when this happened..i tried to look at the stick and i cant see it but definitely felt it when i held it...it sometimes went away when i accelerated, sometimes not...

went to the dearler and they cant reproduce the vibration and told me would be normal if i changed gear too quick from 1st..i normally change from 1st to 2nd in 2k-2.5k..

    kinda driving me crazy..need help!

    cheers

    Here's how I see it:
The gearstick is connected, via linkages, to the gearbox. The gearbox is bolted directly to the engine. The engine has many moving parts and so will produce vibration at certain RPM's. The only way to not get any vibration transmitted from engine to gearstick would be for gear selection to occur through some electronic means, aka an automatic gearbox. There's nothing wrong with your car.

Dont drive with your hand on the stick all the time My father in law did that and ended up with a rash he couldnt get rid of on the palm of his hand.

No probs man, hey just as well you don't have a TDI, they sit there and vibrate themselves apart in front of your eyes!
