Faultless over 15,000km, albeit the 77TSI engine combined with the manual.

Dutch77: On the basis of your experience with the 77TSI, what's the best and worst aspect of the car?
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

No problems over 12 months for a Polo Trendline manual. The only issue I had was poor pre delivery due a miscommunication between the selling dealer and holding dealer.

Best was nearly everything - the exterior and interior styling and finishes (particularly as the sports pack was fitted), the amazing performance and economy from that 1.2 engine and the fact the mrs was so happy I bought her a new car (I'd gone in to look at upgrading to an R for myself, walked out with the Polo for her). The worst aspect was that shoddy BT module fitted to the dash!

Past tense though, as per the sig it made way for my new arrival.

22,000km on our MY12.5 GTI. No problems at all and haven't needed anything fixed under warranty.

42000km on a MY13 GTI, no problems with DSG, oil burning not worth mentioning (by VW standards) and everything else has been OK as well.

May as we'll jump in on this because we rarely hear from the Polo owners that are happy in this and other forums. 13 months, 7,000ks and not a single issue, oil consumption negligible. Early days I know, but very happy. Yes I think Polos are reliable in general - I go out of my way to speak to other owners whenever we cross paths.

Just noticed you have a tsi on order. My next door neighbour has an 18 month old tsi and he is very pleased with it.

A bit less than a year, just over 11000km and no issues other than some oil consumption, which is hardly excessive (so far it's looking like I'll need to top up at around 5000km on average but still early days yet).

Car is great to drive, practical, looks good, interior looks and feels very classy for a micro-car. Happy so far, time will tell with respect to things like clutch life.

No issues, love the styling and peppiness of the 1.2 turbo. Torquey little hatch.

DSG jerkiness and throttle lag is the only annoying thing I feel. Oh and the fuel line rattle.

Yes mine comes in end of next week. I have just been scared off by some of the people I've seen complain about all the issues I've seen.

Stop worrying, buying a new car is exciting and fun, enjoy that, deal with issues if any when they appear don't let bad experiences by others ruin this experience for you
