In the market for a car with the best possible highway economy for the 45km each way drive to/from work. My little Mazda 323 does 7.2L/100km highway and urban, because it sits on 3200rpm in fifth at 100km/h!
I've been looking at 6R Polo's and have my heart set on a 66TDI manual. However, I note that they are a gear short of the 77TSI manual and two gears short of the DSG's. I don't care what the gaps are between the ratio's as long as fifth gear is tall enough.
I've found it completely impossible to find a table of gearing ratio's for the 6R Polo so I can't calculate RPM. I'm hoping someone who owns these cars can tell me what RPM the cars sit at doing 100km/h in top gear;
- 77TSI 6-speed
- 66TDI 5-speed
- 66TDI 7-speed
On a side note, is there a 6R Polo fuel economy thread around here somewhere? Can find one for almost every other VW.
