Hmmm I don't know whether that was a joke or genuine as Bells line is closed after Kurrajong :/

So, have we all agreed on using Heytell to keep in contact during the cruise?

I'll be watching the fire conditions / air conditions especially after reading this before deciding to attend the cruise:

I think that article is more referring to the alkaline in small ash particles damaging the paintwork of your car if you leave it parked outside in an area with bushfires nearby.

As far as I'm aware, smoke poses as no threat to engines unless it is outrageously thick and starving the engine of oxygen, in which case, you wouldn't be driving anyway.

I wouldn't let it stand in the way of what will be an awesome day.

Well it can be compared to the dust storm we had a few years ago...despite it being a lot thicker xD

My S15 air intake and engine filter were clogged full of dust >.< we'll see the weather today looks like there may be a few showers which will remove most of the atmospheric ash sitting high in the sky.

I think its a good idea, we can all swap details at the meeting spot.

Dumb question: How does everyone identify themselves on the day? There'll be like 13 new guys, aside from recognizing each others cars from the forums we mostly all know each other by our forum names? I am personally terrible with names!

Is it also safe to assume that this will be on even in heavy rain? Its showing a chance of rain at this stage.

Or do we check back Friday for updates?

Or we could all go out and buy those stickers from Officeworks that say "Hi, My Name Is:" and put our forum and real names
