Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The 6R rear axle beam is welded to the chassis so unfortunately the centering plates cant be used.

The arch curve on the rear bar pronounces the offset more than it probably is.

IDF drop plates are the only other alternative... Still need to see if they will fit the polo hub. (The plates are made for mk4 golfs)

Literally the lowest a polo can go and still drive.

1 cm lower and the CV's are hitting the chassis and the front tyres are rubbing on front bar/fender tab.

            Setup: FK Streetline
            Wheels: GTI Denvers
            Front: 17x7 et46 215/40/17
            Rear: 17x7 et46 215/40/17

Fitting 17' 8J ET35 wheels with the same 215/40/17's.. should get rid of that horrible tuck.

            Also need to measure FTG.

That......is one sweet looking ride mate.
If I'm ever cruising the Coast I shall keep an eye open for you (if you still have it of course.)
I'll be the one waving from a dirty black Golf GTi, at least until I get the Polo I want.

                Changed it a bit...

Still FK's, no perches at the rear and no helpers in front, 17" 8J ET32 wrapped in 205's..It's rubbing, Either need to get 195's or raise her.

Looking forward to hopefully getting IDF drop plates soon made up

wheels are XXR 527 17x8.25 et25 on a 15mm spacer with a few degrees camber all round, then Oz futura's 17x8.5/17x9.5, which I'm now rebuilding to a square set at 17x9 all round
