That should just be the direct injection working normally. Perhaps louder than usual due to the colder weather.

Yes there is, but being a gti, when i enter my VIN i only get GTI related TPI's come up in the list. if you want to shoot me a PM with your vin I can plug it in, but you have untill 12:30 to get it to me, otherwise my account will have run out...

Not sure what the TPI is for this but I know that it is included in the 24v9 service campaign. If you have the rattle and they haven't done it ask them to do it. It should be done as part of the normal 15/30/45 etc service.

It only stops the rattle on sharp acceleration though. When the revs are below 1200 it will still rattle regardless - just a faulty design using an electronic wastegate actuator

And the noise is purely annoying. The part of the 24v9 service campaign that is important is the ECU update which patches a bug in the software where in some cases (from what I has seen - when using a lot of engine breaking down a hill) the electronic actuator passes the pre defined points set and the computer notes it as a fault and it jams it open and the car goes into limp mode and you have no boost

I ran the sound actuator diagnosis detailed in the actuator TPI, (it works in 11.11.6 but not the 12.10.4 beta) and its really trippy knowing there's an actual speaker in there doing a frequency sweep. It runs a little too fast though and doesn't really stick to the low, rattle causing frequencies. There is some rattling if I don't press down on the plastic under the wipers while the sweep run though, not sure if that's enough for a dealer to go through with the work. We shall see...

There is a new software update 4560 for the DSG gearbox. shifting from 1-2 is much smoother than the 3640 software
