Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Will using a used MY10 speedo on my MY12 make it work? I know I will have to go to the dealer(online) to have it recoded on the immobiliser again

So long as its a speedo with a "H" at the end of the part number.

      Examples:

      6R1 xxx xxx H
      1K0 xxx xxx H

I believe it works on the newer polo's too (MY 13+)

Any clue how to turn off the highline instrument cluster (the one with full MFD and temp n feul gauge) from displaying the error - check coolant level. My 6R, 1.2TSI doesnt come with the coolant level sensor in the coolant overflow tank. The OEM cluster didnt show this error, but after I swapped to the highline cluster the low coolant light keeps flashing + check coolant level msg on the MFD.

I know in SRI-UDS Adaptations you can choose if the cluster is connected to the oil temp/oil level sensor. Any idea if we can do similar adaptations for the coolant level sensor?

For those with ESP9.0i Try this to turn your ASR off to a LONG PRESS ESP FULL OFF button.
            USING VCDS:

            1. "Select Control Module"
            2. Select "03 - ABS Brakes"
            3. Select "Coding - 07"
            4. Copy & Paste your long coding into a text editor
            5. Change the byte 6 number from "0" to "8"
            6. Change the byte 14 number from "0" to "1"

I have discovered these few channels in the ABS module.

              Channel 21 SMALL/LARGE
              Channel 35 ON/OFF
              Channel 51 ENABLED/DISABLED
              Channel 58 Center/EARLY/LATE
              Channel 73 On/OFF

Any VAG VCDS experts know what these controls? I am trying to delay ASR activating which allows some slipping and if possible activating it only after 30km/h
