  • What would your next car be after the Polo GTI?

    Hey all,

I've only owned mine Gti for a year now (if that) and have already started thinking what would my next car be in comparison to mine? Given the same price range, specs, power etc. I'd be prepared to spend 5K more. So out of interest what would you guys be looking forward to or at least planning on getting? Or what wouldnt you be getting?

    I've been thinking

    New Golf
    Current Golf
    Newer Polo 2014
    Bargain Golf R

Or going back to Japanese and getting
    Veloster turbo
    86
    ???
GOLF GTI MY11 ADIDAS Candy White, Sunroof
GOLF GTI 40th ED, White with Sunroof

I'll be eventually going for the A45 AMG pending final pricing structure etc, if not...A250 sport however there is now an 8 month waiting period so it works for me in terms of the Series 2 variant

If you're to get the new gen Golf make sure you wait for the series 2...there will be quite a few bugs and technical faults as this is part of the new MQB platform.

I would go for a current shape Golf R as its newer counterpart is at least 2 years away from landing here.

Had my GTi for 2 months now.

Depending on how things go with reliability and the VW relationship, I'd love to get a Jetta with the 2ltr turbo engine.
Other than that, the Rocco does strange things to me in my pants.

At this rate probably an MQB based Polo GTI, if it mimics the Golf in features as much as it does now - close 0-100, steering wheel, xenons, same sat nav and tacho screen etc.

I just can't really justify spending an extra 10K or so for something a bit bigger with the same sort of performance.

Haha I hate to be a prick but the Veloster is made by Hyundai which is South Korean XD.

For me probably a new gen Golf R as I look to keep my car (if it keeps) for the next 3 years.

I would love a A45 AMG BUT if the A250 is 50k (same price as the R, but slower and no 4WD) then the A45 will be upwards of 70k which is quite a steep jump, though it will be most likely sub 4 secs to 100. (And a 7sp DSG that works flawlessly XD)

If the Scirocco came in 4WD I would buy it tomorrow, damn its one fine looking coupe!

i am changing my plan of attack and going to go for a 1973 porsche 911

I went to trade my polo GTI in after 1 year and they offered me half of the price i paid, i knew i would take a knock but not half the price.

my idea is a car like a 911, i will find a old one that needs some work ( not lots of work ) and drive the GTi until the 911 is up to standard and then sell the GTI and have the 911 as a daily, i my even just keep the GTI as currently the car is worth more to me, that i can sell it for.

and when i need to sell the 911 i will be able to get my money back if not more.....

That the idea that got sold to the boss it should work and will be fun doing it.

Unfortunately due to all th eissues with these cars, there is a fair chance that any of us would be lucky to get $10,000 trade in after 3 years. I'm out of VAG for my next car, they have screwed me too badly this time.

                  Renault all the way.

Oh yes, I would love a renaultSport Megane 265 trophee!

I could be swayed into a 'r' but no much chance of that happening.

The Clio RS looks pretty yummy, but kinda feels like only a small step forward from the Polo - Though race mode is pretty amazing, who doesn't want to see the power, wheel torque and boost they're making on a funky graph?

                              ???
I sold my Polo about 6 weeks ago and picked up a GTS 86. There is no comparison. The 86 is brilliant, whereas the Polo was good. Obviously it doesn't have the all round practicality of a hatch, but if you can live without the load lugging ability I'd recommend it. The interior of the GT feels very cheap, but the GTS manages to recitify a lot of the faults. While the VW interior feels a little more prestige the GTS doesn't feel like a huge step down.
