Did some 0-100 runs this arvo, finally managed to get a reasonable launch with minimal wheel spin. Looks to be about 5.5-5.7 seconds. What do you think?

I didnt think the Polo GTI was even available in 2009. I think the rego is something personal (his initials etc)

Your time of 5.5-5.7 seconds from 0-100kph is about what i was getting in a manual Golf R with stage 1 tune, intake and downpipe.

So the Polo is getting a move on!

Yeah i reckon its pretty quick. I'd never even thought about testing it until i came across another GTI owner on youtube claiming 5.6 second 0-100 in his. He has exactly the same mods too (APR stage 1, CAI and resi removed).
He did a 13.65 @ 101mph too, not bad for a basically stock pogo

Took about 10 try's on different roads to get it to launch without too much wheel spin. Can't wait to get some sticky rubber and see what it can do with a few revs on board and launching (handbrake launch)

Ahhh, so the trick to a good launch is to stage it using the handbrake?

It's better than nothing but don't expect the clutches to last long. Also they will automatically disengage if you hold it for too long. These clutches open for protection after it gets to 168 degrees (or 180? I'm not exactly sure) either way i woundn't do it often. It will only work with the handbrake, if you use the foot brake you will get a massive delay between the brake disengaging and the clutches engaging...

handbrake launch... yer that would definately be a quicker launch than the 1-2sec delay going from brake to accelerator.
How many revs will the handbrake hold before she eases forward?
