    Hi Guys,

I am looking for a intake for my GTi and was wondering on peoples experience and opinions. There are various different ones available, but first hand experience would be nice.

The main reason for the CAI would be to increase induction noise, the noise from the GTi is fairly boring and I would like to create some more noise (not a huge fan of oversized exhaust noise). Coming from a Honda Integra Type S with a Gruppe M, I'm missing the insane induction noise.

I know there is a lot of talk about poor filtration of after market intakes, but there has to be one that allows good filtration with improved airflow and noise.

I had a search and didn't find (in my admittedly short) searching a video of intake sound for the Polo GTI.

My concern would be that it would end up like the golf 118TSI being the same engine setup and all...

      Here is mine:

I have the Forge intake but for me it's just too noisy for day to day use although apparently it makes a few kW difference even on a stock tune. The upside is you get to scare people when cruising round a carpark But yeah, lots of noise, some of it awesome, much of it just annoying.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Wow you can really hear the supercharger whine on that! I have the HP cai and its no where near that loud, I get a small amount of spool sound at about 2500 when under load and letting off the gas pedal but no where near that. Sounds mean.

I'll try get some video tomorrow of the HP

Yeah, same with the VAR Design intake. Sounds like you have a cat stuck in your engine bay Aaron! supercharger whine however is not a bad thing

Is that new since I met up with you Hawks? Sounds like some kind of Mech, about to transform and attack your house. I love it.

I've got the (APR) Carbonio - during normal usage it's not very noisy
At while throttle settings you hear whistling, at full throttle it sounds like a computer warning beeeeep
It's a modern engine/turbo/induction sound - not like Webers and Cam's in the old days
