On a side not my vw dealer told me as of late last year there no longer using Castrol oils even though you get castrol brochures with the new car. Wonder if this also plays a small factor?

What oil are they using now? Mobil, Shell, Motul, Liqui Moly?

Could be the Castrol breaks down under shear.

Good question, I can't remember what he said perhaps Mobil or valvoline?

          Just had my second refuel.
          It's gone from 9.1 to 8.5 l/100km

          Still no oil consumption

I found changing the XDL setting in VCDS from Center (stock setting - 0) to Strong (2) made a huge difference to the squirrelly behavior experienced under hard acceleration. I would strongly recommend this mod if you don't like the stock setting.

Not sure how it works from a technical standpoint, but my feeling is that the system intervenes earlier and stronger which you might think would actually be worse and slow the car down, but it seems a heck of a lot better as you don't get the choppy on/off on/off on/off feel of the stock setting. I would characterise it more as an on, on, on feel but without feeling that the car is being retarded or slowed down in any way.

If I was a genuine car nerd I would run a bunch of tests on the same bit of road using the different settings but I'm more about having fun and setting my car up so it feels great.

It works by being more aggressive with the inside wheel braking, this results in drive being sent to the outside wheel, hence the greater accelerative potential of the car out of a corner. Makes a massive difference.

Have you guys had issues with the engine cutting power to the wheels when cornering hard?
It has happened to me a few times
Will the XDL mod fix this problem? I wouldn't thinks so but maybe it does other things in addition to brakeing.

No, this is called traction control working along side ESC.

                            Can this be adjusted?
If not I will drive with traction control off

First thing I do every time I get in the car is start the engine and reach for the T/C button haha
Can't stand traction control even if it does prevent a little tyre smoke once in a while

Yeah I think I will be following suit. When it cuts in, it cuts in too abruptly.
