Can you post a pic of the location as I can't find any on my 6R. Sorry I am very new to this and have not modded any vehicle.

      no problem.

Inside the trunk on the backside of the light units you will see this. You will see the screw, the spring to prevent it from vibriting loose, and the cable plug. The cables are long enough to unplug one you take the unit out

Wow thanks. Do we need to cut any material to expose the screw?

I plan to import smoked EU/AU style tail lamps as the ones in India are bland (Cost cutting measures, afterall, Highline model in India costs just AUD $10944.54)

Since we are at it, do we have a tutorial to convert LHD tail lights to RHD? I don't intend to cut/splice wires as it will void warranty.

Well you have to rip out the lens for the foglight (pliers work quite nice!) and then get a red bulb to replace the foglight on the other side. So rip the red lens out of the left tail light ad put the clear reversing bulb in and put a red fog light bulb in the right tail light (or you can leave it if you don't intend to use the foglight).

On the plugs there is one wire on the bottom that either controls the fog or reverse light.

Take the left tail light for example the plug has a pin empty at the bottom. De-pin the pin just above the empty spot ad put it in the empty spot.

With the right light it's the same but in reverse. The plug has a free pin 2nd from the bottom. De pin the bottom pin and move it up to the empty spot. That's if. If you don't do this you won't have reverse or fog lights. Everything else if fine though and will work out of the box.

Thanks for the example, do you mind let me know where you got them from? that web address shown on the pic?
I'm also think of going down the LED fog light path as well. Anyone know of any good tried and tested brands? Did a search on ebay but there so many sellers to choose from and I don't always trust their photos.

Very der helpful post but not looking for xenon-look type H8s -- does anyone know what the standard H8's are?

I have changed the Fog Light (Driving Lights) globes to Multi LED style... I have some images here somewhere. The first sort I bought off E-Bay, were a bit big to fit in the housing (in diameter).

The second set worked brilliantly. They do not offer as much light but they match the LED DRL's in the Polo really well.

Also changed the cornering globes to a similar type.

Easy to change and just have the white look that I wanted.

The fog lights are not driving lights.

They are not bright enough to be fog lights in my opinion...

they were useless in my opinion and I wanted them to match the other lights.

if I put 7.5w LEDs in the fog lights won't the car throw a light out code?

What size are the cornering globes in the fog light? Same as the fog itself?

Does it say in the owner's manual? Euro cars generally state all globe types.
