Hi, I want to mount the VW Golf Rear View Camera in my VW Polo 6r, but I read the support of the rear window wiper must be cut.
Vw-rvc-wiper-mod-remove-leg-1 : Polo 6R Rückfahrkamera! So knapp vorm Ziel: VW Polo 5 : #205293907
Don't you cut that support? don't bangs the RVC to support of the rear wiper? Have you a photo of RVC on?
Sorry for my bad English

you dont need to cut anything... we wouldnt have done it if you had to. mine and staz's pics should show what you need to know inside the hatch.... I have no idea why that guy cut his motor mount, but it is a bad idea.Bury S9 XL cradle for Touch Adaptor for sale: http://tinyurl.com/hgmjc4j

Since i'm paranoid about breaking stuff i've enquired with Quattro motors in Burswood to do this for me.
It will take them about 4 hours (sounds reasonable) and they will wire it up based on printed instructions from this thread
I am also getting them to install an RNS510 (over my RCD510) at the same time, hopefully should make living with the GTI a little easier... not that its hard at the moment!MY12.5 Candy White 5 door Polo GTI. sounds reasonable to me. swapping to the RNS at the same time should be free, as you remove the RCD to do it anywayBury S9 XL cradle for Touch Adaptor for sale: http://tinyurl.com/hgmjc4j

Hey Jon, great article, well done and thanks... may look at doing this.
Did you happen to price genuine parts from the Stealership?
Are the Brackets (made) an extra cost or job to do?
What do you mean the size of the square on the screen, was it not full frame?
Cheers
Stephen

In discussion today we both agree this is 5hours and $500 well spent if you fancy an RVC, thanks also to lunchbox for the brackets!
We also tested the size of the 'square' on the screen and reckon its Golf sized, so is probably part of the lens, not the software that comes with the Polo.Owner and Operator of 2013 Polo GTI - Sunroof - Xenons - Reflex Silver

The brackets are definitely an extra cost, they were custom made by a member on here - nothing to do with VW.
The square size is when the video feed comes through there are "guide" lines IN the image {every rvc i've seen has these lines}. These lines are based on the golf as its a golf camera, so the "width" lines are a touch too wide. Almost guarantees we don't kerb the rims!
I've had the rvc in the car since almost new and the mrs and i still love it.

Cheers... Much appreciated.
Just picked up my jigger and am just looking at what I can do to it.
Considerting the rear parking sensors are so expensive $700, I might consider this.
It does install to the standard NON Navigation headunit doesn't it?

Re: Golf pop out badge RVC into Polo 6R
About a billion times better than rear sensors. The wide angle lens lets you see everything, very useful in carparks as you can see people walking in from the sides (and vehicles). It works with the std headunit. Best to pop it out and check if yours has the rear connector needed though, my my13 didn't, so I bought one that did (+300 or so) and swapped it at the same time.

The cameras will connect to an RCD510 as long as it has the extra camera connector - it varies between models.
The resolution is lower than the nav ver (RNS510), but it'll work - just wont look as good.2006 MkV 2.0TDI -> 2005 MkV GTI -> 2008 MkV R32 -> 2013 Polo 77TSI + 2016 Mk7 Golf R Wagon

I priced it up and was $300 for an RCD510 $360 for the camera and $40 for the adapter.
Then a poster said those cameras off Ebay were no good so gave it away as a wasted job.
Have a RVC in the Passat and dont use it all that often as I find when reversing into my garage the car is in the sun and the garage is in shade and I cant see into it because of that so just use the mirrors as I have for last 50 years LOL2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B
