That being said i was looking at getting coilovers(Bilsteins) and keeping the 18s.

BTW i love your wheels and even had a look to see if i could get some here in Europe but to no avail.
I have hit some verrry big holes at high speeds and thought oh no...but to my surprise the wheels and tyres have stood up magnificently.

For many months I searched for those out-of-production Rays wheels in a spec that would fit the GTI...and now its time for a change. I'm also changing over to coilovers shortly.

Not a fan of those studs along the edge to be honest - but I can definitely see that you are! - I think those studs would look better on a classic muscle-car... I think the Polo is a bit too modern for them. I'm personally looking for a decent set of 16-17" Enkeis, something subtle yet a bit darker so it blends in with the pepper grey color... though I might try to be sensible and pick a more silver colored one as my Polo is already road-colored, any other road-grey parts on my car and I may as well be invisible... I suppose I could be thankful for DRLs -_-

Im finding it quite the mission to find a nice set of wheels for my polo. I've found a set I really like problem is they are 8.25inches wide which would be fine on the back but I think it its pushing it on the front as they sit about 27mm further out from standard.

Isn't that width illegal as well?

Close! XXR530's. I love the concave look and they have a similar look to the BBS CH's which I also like.

oh nice nice. well thingo on here is running 18x8 et 35 TSW nurburgrings and they seem to fit fine. So if you go 8.25 et 35 then its only another 3mm poke and 3mm less clearance on the inside. Oh and the 530s come in 17x7 as well

Cheers mate. Just noticed you said the 530's come in 7inch wide. Could be an option to run a staggered fitment although not really money concious going that route.
I noticed they had 9.5's, they'd have some serious concave to them
