I must say im upset to see my Polo go, i grew bored of it.
What i hated most about it was the rattle and went to the dealer 5 times and they still hadnt fixed it. plus concerns that the DSG would **** itself sometime soon.

I choose the abarth as its something different, plus a proper manual gearbox!!!!! I do like quick shifting with DSG but nothing makes you feel more connected with the car than a good old fashioned manual box and clutch.

am still up for cruises if anyone wants to invite me along, would love to compare to a 6N gti and 6R gti.

Great choice. I wanted one when I first heard of it, but then it took them three years to bring it to the country and the new Polo GTI came out...

Still, it's a cool car and it makes me happy to know there's another interesting, exciting car out there on the road

BTW my 9N3 has outpaced a 500 at 2 track days at Sandown this year (only about a second in it each time, though).

But, no way, German cars are still two steps forward...
I can say beacuse I'm actually working for Fiat, I worked about six years in Ferrari, I've been in Detroit after the recent agreement (purchase) of Jeep/Chrysler, I've been as an external supplier in Ingolstad (Audi) and Wolfsburg (VW), but no way, German are still two steps forward...

In the Abarth you will find a stronger character, some good racing inspirations, but poorest material and some approximative assemblies...
BUT probably no oil consumption issues...

Just had a look online... about 34K on road in NSW.
There are 50 on carsales for sale. I thought that's about how many they were importing

That was one of the cars I was looking at as well.

But they didn't have much kit on them... I think they only started bringing the higher spec SS with upgraded mufflers, 595 seats and xenon lights a couple of months back. And fully spec-ed they were about 45k, close enough to a full spec demonstrator Mini Cooper S JCW I got quoted.
