OK this might sound a little weird but the VW dealer I picked up my new 2012 Polo GTI from told me that I could could achieve quicker take-offs by switching 'off' the traction control, planting the accelerator to the floor with the brake on, that the engine would rev to 3,000 rpm (achieve something similar to a high stall converter).
Is this fact or fiction?
There is nothing in the owner's manual about this, and I don't see anything on the internet about it either.
I don't really have any intention of using this function (if it exists), as I'll be looking after this baby, it's my pride & joy.
I'm just intrigued by this, that's all.
And if there's any other special functions on the 2012 Polo GTI such as rocket launchers etc, that aren't in the manual please let me know
