I've tried the TDI, 77TSI and GTI. The 77TSI is the pick of the current Polo line wrt to driving fun.

Really, why do you say that? I have now driven a 77 TSI and yeah, it's not a bad car but I will guarantee that if I took it on the reefton or chum creek road there is no way that it would induce the same kind of grin on my face that my GTI does.
