Advice for getting another 215/40/17 87V ContiPremiumContact 2

On a similar note, we've developed a bubble/egg/aneurysm in the sidewall of our front right GTI tyre after an unavoidable pothole. I've been searching around in vain for a 215/40R17 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyre to no avail. I thought I got lucky this afternoon after ringing Mona Vale and found out when I made the hike there, it was a 215/45R17....

I've got a mate who owns a tyre shop and he says the whole Australian (at least NSW) network doesn't have that size tyre in stock in that particular OE brand fitment. There isn't even an ETA showing on the computer, which means they're not even on a boat here from Germany/Japan. Tirerack doesn't even stock them.

I'm now torn as to what to do. All tyres are near new!! It seems I have to buy two fronts of a different brand, chuck the bubbled tyre and keep one the other Dunlop as a spare. What a waste. I'm not a fan of running different tread patterns but it seems silly to replace all four.

Anyone have a spare 215/40R17 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx lying around?

I do. But I have 4 of them and I'm not willing to spilt them! Sorry. If you want all 4, you can have it, say $600. It's still on the rims though. Done just under 2000km, almost 1900km I think.

Hi. Thanks for all your responses.
After speaking with the importers, there was only a couple of tyres in the country in other states. After paying freight for the tyre and given a timeline of up to 2 weeks, i decided to wait for a shipment due in Melbourne which only added an extra week. As this is our second car i thought no use in paying extra for only getting it 1 week earlier.
I have placed a tyre on backorder.

I cant wait till i need to change all 4 tyres so i can pick a tyre that is a bit easier to source
