  • Novated Lease & Insurance

my GTI has landed and am about to sign the deed of novation.
The insurance company used by RemServ is either their own in-house Maxxia insurance or Swan insurance.
i have no experience with either, and have the option to use my own nominated insuror (been with AAMI for years)

Do any of you have any suggestions for best course of action, or any do's or don'ts?

My main concern is the fact I don't know either of these, nor do I think they have local (Far North Qld) representation.

many thanks for your help in advance.

cheers, Tigga (coz I already have one)

I used Budget Direct who are underwritten by A&G which is Qld based for $540, but it is for a 77TSI not a GTI, pays to shop around.

I am in the same boat as I will be leasing with a novated lease. The Maxxia Insurance quote was over twice as expensive as NRMA and AAMI quotes. Shop around!

Our van is insured outside of the leave company and we are saving ~15% over what they were quoting and I'm pretty sure I could do better if I really shopped around. It always pays to show around, just try and make sure the policy you choose has all the features you want, they all make it bloody difficult to compare one to another, feature for feature, but it's worth reading through the PDS's.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

i went with my own nominated insurance, you should do the same, or at least shop around and find the best deal.

got an online quote from AAMI, where i have my Tiguan insured, quoted $605 based on 29k agreed value

now i need to read my lease documentation to see what they quoted me...or what they allowed for
