  • Compartment in passenger footwell

    Hi guys

There is a compartment in the passenger footwell just in front of the door - I've opened it and it's empty - does anyone know what it's there for? Storage? Or is it a space for a factory-fitted option that I didn't order?

    Here's a pic:

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Steve

There's secret compartments all over the car.

Yeah, I have one of those. I first thought that it is for the car manual / workshop book, but that is in the secret compartment in the glove box

It's most likely fusebox door, and since yours is L/H drive the wiring would be for L/H drive too.

Guys, how hard really is it to read the owners manual?! Just take it to the thinking room with you and you will be amazed at all the little features you can't find out about from not reading it!

Oh, to answer the question, it is a dedicated high-vis vest storage compartment

Serious question, is that what the owners manual says?
Just wanted to ask for all of us non-Polo GTI owners without access to the manual

Hehe - I looked in my manual but there's nothing rhd fusebox under steering column. I assumed it'd be for PDC unit... Maybe a good place to put bluetooth pack instead of under seat ?

Glad to see I'm not the only one that read my manual cover to cover - yeh Gavs - go the hi vis vest.
Pity it's not a lined little secret spot - worried I might lose something in there and have it rattle against the body work for the rest of my life
