Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The VAR Design intake uses a carbon fibre intake trumpet which houses a specifically designed pod-style filter, manufactured to Viezu and VAR Design's specifications rather than the generic K&N filter used by Gruppe M.

For further info, contact Simon at Viezu Australia.
Gavs how is yours mounted to the front, is it secured by a plate or something similar below or above the intake, mine is sitting loose at the moment about 3cm from touching the front

        • It doesn't mount to anything at the front, just the carbon fibre pipe and the plate underneath that fits into a stud next to the fuse panel.

Depends how low you are now. My arch to ground at the front is around 585mm and I'm still all stock in regards to swaybar and associated parts. Haven't noticed and rubbing or knocking.

You will need to get a set of plugs and rewire the lighting harness. The Xenons run a 6+8 (14pin) plug where as the stock halogens is just a 10pin.

Also you need some h7 bulbs for the cornering lights but considering you allready have h7 halogen headlights you can just take them from there

Remember you will lose the manual headlight adjustment capability from within the car as the Xenons use a stepper motor in conjunction with the keeling unit - a motor that you can not wire up to the old switch work.

They are a little bit more expensive than the ones in your link, but the '005A' type come in a gel coated red on black design which matches the GTI interior really well. (scroll down in the eBay listing to see them).

Would this work on the MY15 polo 81TSI? Anyone tried?

Is there a similar set up?

I saw for the Golf 7, there are after market headlights you can wire up pretty easily. i am hoping this is the case for POLO
