how have you found their after-sale communications? I went with Osborne Park and found them to be very poor. My neighbour has a MY08 Golf GTI and went through John Hughes and said they have been fantastic.

The after sale is Fantastic I bought a Polo Match from them previously and any issues I had were resolved efficiently and Professionally. I just Hope they can live up to delivering my new Polo soon

I went with Osborne Park and I have found them to be great. I went in the other day as my engine light flashed on and they took care of the issue - a spark plug had failed, i guess i just happened to get that one car in a hundred that has some minor fault with it, but nevertheless they took car of it immediately, offered me a coffee and the sales rep and i had a great chat about stuff.

so far so good with the car, although i swear i'm going to get done for speeding one of these days the take off from the lights in sports mode is mesmerizing....having come from a family wagon the little polo just keeps wanting to accelerate! now i just need to find a decent driving road in perth. the problem with this city is that its so darn flat! hardly any winding roads, in the meantime i just keep stringing round-a-bouts together to try and achieve something similar.

approximately 3 weeks to go before pick up. can't believe it's been 2.5 months already since signing up. time sure fly's by when you're on this forum while tracking on the marrine traffic website.

my mate just purchased a new golf gti and was also advised eta was also end of this month.

It seems that comments on this forum regarding customers knowing more about their car location than VW is correct. Got an email from VWA stating that my car arrived in Port Kembla today......funny that as it was discharged lunchtime yesterday, and the boat sailed last night! Now the wait for Patricks....

VWA get updated the day after the car lands... so, really they were pretty onto it if they got in contact with you the day after you tracked the discharge...

Yeah, the wait isn't VGA specific, it's dealer specific, that's where the delays come from

This happens when you acquire a car via a dealer transfer. The car still gets dropped off at the port of the original dealer - even if it were acquired from a WA dealer transfer.

This is getting painful . My Polo arrived in Melboune on the 17th, however won't be ready in ADL until the 17th of October due to them fitting stuff:

I have to say after a May order - the wait is killing me now more than ever!!! I am thinking about it every day - and it makes it worse that i have to drive past a VW dealer on the way to work!

any suggestions how to cope with this last leg?

If the dealer swap is done after the car has been loaded onto the ship it will be dropped off in the harbour it was originally destined to. Due to time & logistics the shipping company will not shuffle around 100s of cars only to take one out. The key for shipping companies is minimum docking time as docking the ship in the harbour costs them major money.

not necessarily - PATRICKS has a lot to do with it; sometimes the cars get marked "damaged" and all it is is a missing spare key or a badge is missing. The dealerships do not get notified about this delay or any ETA. Given that the keys come out of Singpore, this quickly adds 10 days. Normally most sales consultants do not have access to NADCON, as it is the ordering system (wouldn't want someone to accidantely order 20 Touaregs now, would we...). This leaves either the stock controller or manager to track the status - given that both have other duties you can apreciate that they don't update the vehicle status from factory on a daily basis.
As I said in other parts of the forum, it is in everyones interest to get the cars out as quickly as possible: customers, VW, VGA and last but not least the sales person - after all we all do not get paid until you handover that bank cheque

Car arrived in Melbourne on the Oberon yesterday, shipped departed 12 noon today. Guessing it should be 10-12 days for the GTI to arrive. Fingers crossed
