The Topaz annd Tombarra might be on 2 or 3 pitstop strategies where the Morning Carol is on a 1 stop strategy, might still win the race LOL

I wonder how long it will take from here? Unloading, clearing customs, transport to dealer, window tinting, pre-delivery wash and turning on of all the electronics... have I missed anyghing?

Yeah....compliance after it leaves the ship and before delivery to dealer. Still, it only should take 2 weeks if all goes well

Hey crumbs, the car won't be able to be tracked until it"s actually on the ship from my experience, mine and Gav"s was parked outside the production plant in Pamplona and at the docks for nearly 3 weeks after we got our VIN . On a more positive note, the Morning Carol is just passing Dakar at the moment, it"s all down hill now to South Africa

Be prepared to lose contact for a few days. Tombarra's last known location was around that area and has been out of contact since 22/04.

Lets just hope the dock workers are back on track and there is no backlog of cars by the time ours arrive!!

I think the main worry for all concerned is the upcoming Stevedores national strike this weekend. I hope they end it soon, otherwise the wait for shipping from Europe to Australia will seem like a "blink of an eye"

Wallenius Wilhelmsen maintain the whole shipping cycle of the car and seeing as boats are still being sent here to unload, I would say that if the Patrick Stevedores strike is going to affect things, they will commision P&O to do the offloading etc. There is more than one warfie company down there Getting it to the dealer though, that's a different story....

Why would you strike if there was someone else to take over your work? It'd kinda defeat the purpose. I'm pretty sure that some other company can't just come in and take over (easily).

They may divert the cars to another port in Australia but I thought the strike was nation wide.

They can't strike forever as the car carriers will just keep piling up out off the port. This will hopefully be resolved like many other disputes within a week.

Another thing they need to realise is that If the people who are striking don't go back to work, there will always be someone else on this earth that will do the job cheaper...
