Anyone had a recent build in South Africa? Just wondering roughly how long it took to get from there to here?
I ordered November 13.. Arrived by ship in Fremantle 6th April and in my possession 15th April. So 5 months.. But then my story continues.. 16th April engine keeps cutting out, RAC looks at it 17th April, Towed on 18th April and at VW Servicing since then

Does the same vessel that transports the cars from Spain to Bremerhaven, then go on to Australia? Or do they get dropped off at Bremerhaven, then go through more checks in Germany before being shipped to Australia?
I've got a VIN from the dealer but it's not showing up in the tracking system.

The GTI is built in Spain, then takes a train ride down to Bremerhaven to be loaded onto a ship. Don't worry if it hasn't appeared on the tracking site. It took a whole month from the date my car left the factory to the date it was loaded onto a boat. You just gotta play the painful waiting game .
How painful! But it's better than being stuck in "dealer spec" like I was with my other order.
The NADCON should have more detailed information about the life of the car, schedule of events, etc. yeah? I can probably ask nicely for a print screen of that.

It was so painful knowing that our cars were built and just sitting in a holding yeard near the wharf waiting for a ship.
Makeyou wonder if the supply bottleneck is more to do with theshipping than the manufacture of the cars.

Will never happen - Tombarra is red. Red ships go faster
Yeah, yeah, keep thinking that Ohmang. The Morning Carol is blue, matches the ocean, therefore stealth. Would pass the Tombarra and it wouldn't even know it. It's rigged for silent running as well
BTW, Morning Carol has let Southampton, next stop Durban..no stopping in Port Elizabeth like you guys
