my pepper grey tsi should arrive in Fremantle tomorrow morning on the Torino. How long does it usually take 'till I can pick it up from the dealer?

No updates from the dealer end here Joe, to busy worrying about getting the golf ready for sale and trying to sell off excess parts laying around! Have been checking the location of the boats every day though
Regarding delivery dates, if anyone here works for Patricks, I apologise in advance but your company is useless. For example: There is a whole yard of Amaroks that have been sitting in Sydney for over a month now and they are randomly dispatching cars with and without accessories around the country to dealers who haven't even ordered them, yet people who were among the first to order aren't being sent their cars?!
I just hope, based on the quality of some of their work, that indeed all the options for the GTI are factory fitted and all they do is let it sit on the dock for 3 weeks before loading it on a truck..... (he says as he pulls swarf out of his hand....) Ridiculous isn't it, a car takes 6 weeks to travel around the world on a boat averaging 15knots yet on a truck averaging around 60kph takes 3 weeks to travel 28kms.....sigpic

Also, my arrival date in Melbourne has moved from 6/6/11 to 2/6/11, which I take with a pinch of salt
Must be lowlee's that's holding us up now
And yes I can confirm, all the Pamplona built vehicles depart from the German port of Bremerhaven.sigpic

Ha Ha! Sorry dude, but I have a feeling that it might be!Mine is showing that it is booked to sail on the Mignon, 26th April so by then, so long as yours doesn't sit at the factory for 2 weeks like mine did (and I'm guessing GTI Joe's) and then at the dock for a further 3 weeks, you will probably be on that boat too.
That said, the car has run ahead of schedule and was on the choo choo yesterday, fingers crossed it leaves ahead of schedule too!sigpic

Car is built and on the train (?) to the port - I have a VIN
Also if anyone is after a Flash Red Polo GTI - Woodleys in Tamworth NSW have one available and in the showroom. No options - stock standard. I have no relationship with the dealer other than being a customer and the sales guy (James) has been most helpful.

Sorry if this has been answered before (tried to go through the thread, but 35 pages!)...
How are some of you guys knowing which port the cars are leaving from? They're built in Spain, right? And how are you anticipating which ships they might ship on? I understand (from the Golf forum) if I have a VIN, I can see where my car is, but some of you are saying - oh, it's not on Boat X, therefore it must be the next one, Boat y... where are you getting this from? Which boats are next? Kind of fun tracking the boats on the marine traffic sight, but how to know which boats to concentrate on?

It says in NADCON which port the car will leave from.
See Ohmang's post here for a screenshot
As far as the "next boat". The guys are just guessing as (probably more than) half the boats going to Bremerhaven won't even pick up any VW's...

Basically we know that all Polos built in Spain are shipping from Bremerhaven and VW only use one shipping company. We can then look at their shipping schedules and hope our cars are on one of those boats! (Go search by ports and then click Bremerhaven Germany to wherever in Aus you are.)
Schedules Selection
I warn you it's a painful process and you're going to get hugely disappointed every time a ship departs and you're not on it!
My car was built almost a month ago now.. surely I'm up soon!Last edited by payno; 07-04-2011, 01:13 AM.'11 Polo GTI - Candy White, 5 Door, Bi-Xenon Lights, Comfort & Audio Packs.

Always eternal optimists here, "surely must be on the next boat" syndrome.
Oh, the Taiko is docked at Bremerhavenand the Tombarra is approaching the English channel heading to Zeebrugge.
