    +1

It is fun to pull away from the lights "pedal-to-the-metal" style (up to the legal speed limit) and see the guys in their holdens and fords come racing past you after you pawned them with the pull away

    • replaced the 4x stock H7's in the high/low beams to Osram Nightbreakers and the two park lights to a pair of Philips W5W Bluevision.

the 'whiter' lights look alot better than the stock piss yellows.

if your looking to change your bulbs, do them all at once and make sure you tape the surrounds of the headlight assembly as you will need to apply some force to slide them out. dont want to scratch your new front bumper.

      • Bought a Polo GTI speedo on ebay just now, just for the fact it has a temperature gauge. The Germans even installed them in the 1.2 tdi and fully working

next step: GTI paddle shift in my 1.2 tsi

Paddle Shift on the 1.2? Needs lots of technical knowledge and reprogramming ?? Sounds pretty darn good if its doable PoloDave

            • Fair bit of work to get that working, not only the wheel and programing it but you will need al the associated wiring and software to communicate between the wheel and bearbox I would think. the multi function wheel on the GTI has a different computer module in it....

Ambitious, I'll give you that! I wouldn't mind maybe looking into a custom set of aluminium gear paddles on my GTI when I get it...

Same, within an hour after washing the car a bird crapped on it. The bird must have died, looked like all his organs left his body and landed on my car

                  • what I'm after is the serial number for the GTI non-MF-steeringwheel-controller module (wich is very hard to find indeed..). The GTI and Highline airbag are the same so they should fit. If it's the same procedure as the Golf6/skoda the module should be changed, and the paddles can simply be activated by VCDS by checking a box (although 90% of the bits and bytes is still unknown), the ESP and airbag lights will have to be done by the dealer

True, there are a lot of 'shoulds' and 'ifs' but hey, someone has to try it. Eventually I'll have paddles, working or not

It's all long term planning since I bought a house yesterday, but its coming

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of the family barges.... BUT...

I fail to see how your 77tsi with it's blistering 9.7s (from redbook) 0-100km/h has a remote hope against a small child on a big wheel, let alone a Commodore/Falcon

Even an '01 VX Commodore Executive (152kw 3.8L V6) with a it's slushbox 4spd auto is a full second quicker to 100km/h (8.7s on redbook), let alone the newer 3.0/3.6 SIDI models that are much more powerful, and only a little heavier.

The idea that Commodores/Falcons are very slow is false, they are a little quicker than your average 4cyl non-sports hatch. The idea that they can't handle is somewhat false too, with the newer VE based HSV's being quite impressive through the bends (but FPV's still handle like boats, as do the rest of the Commodore/Falcon range)

Me too, but noticed the ball of coolant had slipped below the minimum - just - but not too sure whether I ever observed it properly before - so will keep a close eye on it now
