What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
can i ask where from? wouldnt mind some coilovers one day!
Yeah, DPM Performance in the UK. Damien just helped me out with a set... When you look it up it goes like this:
- Listed price x 0.87 (removing VAT)
- Add around 125 pounds for shipping
- Tell him your from VWW and you hear good things about them (hope for another few $$$ off).
- Put that price into Paypal (how he likes to be paid) and be aware of extra fees for using credit cards, etc).
Should come out to a scratch over $1k.
As the Aus $$$ is so good right now, price is good!
im pretty sure gti_daves (another polo owner) skoda octavia could waste anything with a polo badge (9n or 6r) in a straight line AND around corners, but sometimes it isnt about who is fastest, but rather who is happy with their cars and the mods they've done to it.
i just hope that once all these gti's get delivered, that this forum doesnt turn into "the only reason there are people here who arent driving gti's is because they are too poor to afford our expensive $32k gti's" like the 9n forum appeared to be for a while - smug little motherf***ers who were so snobby that a few decent forum members actually stopped posting altogether because they kept on getting flamed for not driving a gti... then the moment those same elitist pricks can afford someone's 3rd hand mazda 3 mps or subaru sti, they're outta here like last week's trash.
so yeah. just hope that doesnt happen on here.

I thinks it's fair to say that me, Gav's, GTI Joe and Payno don't fit into the category you mention.
We're here because we're enthuiastic, rather than trying to convince ourselves we made the correct purchase choice until we can afford something else that we'd prefer (and that we don't)

I walked into the dealership with the initial intensions to buy a 66TDI if I couldn't get a GTI, so don't worry, I'm not going to put people down in a serious manner because I am lucky enough to get a GTI, I will do it in jest from time to time, for sure.
But after a cruise where I was keeping up with stock polo and golf GTIs through the corners in a 1.6 Mk4, I won't judge because it doesn't always come down to power, torque and expense $3k worth of suspension mods though, they helped
Yeah ive been suprised quite a few times, like my little polo kept up with a mate from works mk4 R32 (i believe he's on the forum here somewhere), which suprised me. I respect anyones car that they take pride in no matter what it is.
In other news, have ordered PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow bulbs for the Fogs and a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Plus H7's for the Low beams. Had them on the camry and they were awsome.

Where did you order the PIAA Plamas from? Keen to get some myself...

lol it's all good (and i hope i didnt sound presumptuous, frostee). it'll be awesome to go on the cruise and get to see some new faces.
and yes. i have no handling mods. i need handling mods...... i know KW is the tried & true norm on here, but im thinking adjustable konis + fixed height springs, somewhere down the line...

that's why i love the new tsi. a tiny 1.2L engine which comfortably kept up with my mate's stage 2 polo gti in the twisties (according to him, and even though the tsi had no mods at all)... yes, the gti will always be faster, and call me strange but even though it might do things only 70% as well as a gti, the fact that it's sooooooo close to only 1L capacity just tickles my fancy (not trying to dismiss the fact that the gti is a pretty friggin awesome bit of kit, especially for the money... i just like tiny tiny engines).

Ditto... I love the responsiveness of the little un, and have recently been enjoying the drive to work even more. The DSG in S mode is pure fun. Makes me smile just thinking about it. I work up on a mountain and the road is twisty, which in my old SAAB meant wallowing around corners and searching for gears. Not so TSi - it has terrific cornering grip, and an engine that just responds as if it were twice as big.
Oh oh I can feel another grin coming on

Well the Polo is my first manual car, and im in love with the gearbox, it was very forgiving at first, but its alot of fun now, matched really well to the 1.2.. Even with the odd Axle Tramp... >>
Ordering the Rear Sway from Whiteline next week hopefully.
