What's the difference between a LHD downpipe and RHD downpipe?

The HP downpipe fouls the steering. We ('Finforce' who purchased one) suspect the same applies to all Euro made DPs for the 6C.

Alternatively you could buy cheaper from UK, whether it be Scorpion or Milltek, and take the gamble you will not be hit by customs. I got lucky, others may not. Main reason I went for a UK agent for Milltek is because I thought Milltek/agents would not sell the downpipe separately (I already had the cat back and the AU agent had earlier told me systems could not be split) but apparently they have changed their policy and will now will split their systems.

I have noticed a significant increase in torque steer since getting the tune done.

What kind of condition are your pads? Mine torque steers only since the pads gave up, works brilliantly but chews the pads for sure

              • The prices of off the shelf catback and downpipes are disgusting

Havoc fabrication make amazing custom ones for similar prices. I haven't decided what direction to go with both my gtis unfortunately so they will remain how they are a while longer

The pads on mine are new. Car has only done 2200 kms.

                  • Even though the torque steer is significant now. The wheel spin can be even worse when exiting a corner with heavy throttle inputs. Do you guys turn off the tc or just watch the light flicker in the dash? What technique do you guys use to get the car off the line quick?

Tc off everytime I start the car, roll onto first gear slightly until it hooks

Also get some good tyres or run lower psi helps dramatically

                      • Has anyone here installed or looked at installing an oil catch can in their GTi?

I'm thinking about doing a few track days soon and I want to install one, just not sure if anyone makes kits for them or if I'd have to make up a custom one.

These wheels looked so good I was going to change until I got the following info. back from a major UK supplier of JR wheels-
'' Due to warranty returns, paint flaking, weight issues ( 800grams between wheels in one case) , porosity, out of round, pcd holes drilled incorrectly and many other we have decided to discontinue buying any more wheels in until our 3 pallets of faulty wheels are collected by JR and refunded.'' He said the 3 pallets were just the bad ones after going through and thoroughly testing many others. "Yes we’ve had our fingers burned with this Chinese crap"

                          • I'm not surprised, I wouldn't touch half of the cheap wheels floating around out there.

Enkei RPF1's are a good looking, affordable light weight quality wheel and they're available locally in a heap sizes and offsets. I'm surprised more people don't run them on their Polos.

I had a set on my MX5 SP.

The RPF1s do look very nice in lower offsets. They look very nice on your Mazda but in higher offsets required for Polos I suspect there is not much 'dish' effect.

I'm suprised to hear this. Got the feeling that JR Wheels was a legit company with affordable quality wheels. Still, im not stupid and i know that you get what you pay for, but i didn't think it would be this bad. I did react to the fact that one of my wheels required more counterweights than the other 3. But other than that, im very satisfied with them. No other things to complain about. But maybe im just lucky, who knows.
