Also the cluster has to be done by VW as the only way to remove the cluster is by removing the entire front internal section of the dash board in order to gain access to the screws, lock nuts behind the original cluster. That and they need to calibrate the new cluster to the factory settings of the original Polo.

Hmmm I think personally I'd rather have someone I know do it, rather than some chap at VW. My experiences with the dealership are terrible and the mistakes I've seen could have been avoided so easily.
Plus I know they will charge a left testicle to do it.MY11 Polo Trendline, Candy white
RCD510, R badge, AP X coilovers, 17" Ariettas in gloss black, Rear muffler delete, GTI pedal covers, gloss back emblems
soon to come, Front lip & Fat bottom steering wheel

There is a guy on the UK forums who sells and install clusters, and only charges 200pound. Which i can see just really covering the cost of the item without much mark up. so it couldnt be too hard to install
If you could find someone to do the install and then got VW to do coding would be a whole lot cheaper, for both the steering wheel and cluster

Do want that lip
As for the black I reckon take it all the way to where the bumper comes down around the fogs. I was thinking of doing mine like that but matte black to match the grill surrounds.
