  • What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)

    He he, waaaay too much!

$567 fitted and balanced no I haven't had re002 before but by all reports it smashes pretty much any of the other ultimate road/semi slick tyres on wet weather performance and also has much lower wear, better steering response and feedback

    • How many kms are you up to? At my last service they told me I would soon need new front tyres... Wear is excessive on the insides ...

      I'm just over 30k kms...

41,000. Still another 1-2mm on the fronts (was at 3mm at 30,000km service) and 3mm on the rears. Yes, more wear in the inside than outside also. I'm stoked I got that many kms out of the dunnys to be honest. For a performance tyre that's bloody good, my ku31's were on the wear blocks in 22,000kms on my golf! Another reason I steered away from the ku36, yeah they're initially grippy and quiet but they just wear out too quick. The federals I was going with initially were only $10 a tyre cheaper and the RE002 craps over them in the wet, is also better in the dry and by all accounts I should get at least another 2 years if not longer out of them depending on how much grip they have of course (must test it for the masses you see...)

Wow! Good on you for having a go at something different man, personally, not a fan of the mismatched colour wheels but I do think the pink vs pepper grey will look amazing!

              • Agree, the pink would look better. Also try colouring the wing mirrors pink as well to match.

                    • Very nice! especially the blue. Out of curiosity: did you coat the inside of the wheels also? Or just the front of the rims?
Was it easy? How many coats and cans of paint? Lots of questons but I might coat mine sometime and want to do it right

just the outside, even spraying just the ouside, there is enough overspray to make the inside blend in. it was super easy, just gotta have your rims super clean. I used 2 cans for all 4. one blue can and one pink can. I got 4 coats on ewlach rim. the whole "1 can a rim" must be bull**** haha 3 cans is heaps and left over heaps for touch ups

                        • well from my experience, if you want it to last longer 1 can a wheel is better. Currently i have glossified black on atm and its been 2 months and it still looks mint. ive done half a can before but it just rips so easily

                          • Thnx for the info My rims have more 'face' than the rs4's and they are silver so I need to do the inside too.. So maybe 1 can per wheel is needed in my case
