What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
Finally finished my reverse camera install! Rcd 510 plus reverse camera, just proved that it can be done
How tricky was this install? I picked up one of the adapter plates that a forumer had made up in case I wanted to do this. Also, where did you get the camera from?

Yeah rear seems fine, fronts rub slightly. Found where the tyre rubs finally too.
There's a tab where the inner guard mounts to the outer guard at the very top of the wheel arch and it looks like thats whats rubbing.
yeh thats the main reason i havnt done mine. dont really want to raise it, plus im running bigger tires so they would probs rub alot more. i really need to get smaller tires

Mine isn't the pop out camera, it's a different camera that hooks into one of http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Volkswage...689&_uhb=1 and then plugs into the rcd 510 unit. The VCDS coding is the same as the pop out camera too. Why did I go this option? Well, I wanted to see if it could be done

Wait is that the one that goes in one of the number plate lights?
That would work too, mine is different but any aftermarket one will work
I'm guessing you could plug any kind of camera/device into the cable and have a colour display on the RCD screen, right? Could be handy for digital camera or phone as well. Hmm... What's the image quality like?

I'm guessing you could plug any kind of camera/device into the cable and have a colour display on the RCD screen, right? Could be handy for digital camera or phone as well. Hmm... What's the image quality like?
You might even be able to mirror your iPhone's screen to the radio if you have a 4S or 5 and the right cables. Maybe even an iPad
Stacked it. Ran into the back of a commodore ute on the freeway. Not too much damage. Twin holes in the bumper where his exhaust worked like cookie cutters. Small crease in the bonnet just above the badge. Cant bear to look at it in any finer detail.

You either need a genuine VW unit, or an RCA video cable converter unit.
The latter costs close the the price of the genuine parts out there.

the one gavs has fitted is with the rca convertor box and would have cost half the price
Only just now had the stomach to look at the damage. One of the "exhaust pipe holes" turns out to be the towhook cover.
Going home from work on the freeway all of a sudden traffic starts to slow. I hit the brakes reasonably hard for a sec, the car behind me took evasive action and ended up beside me. Then the brake lights of the commodore in front went off so I lifted off my brake. Not sure if I was distracted by the car travelling beside me in the inside breakdown lane, but next thing I know commodore brake lights are on again and it was stopped. I was never going to stop and I had nowhere to go either. That corolla eventually did stop beside the commodore. So lucky that the driver had the swerve instinct because that would have been seriously bad.
I know the actual damage is very minor and it could have been much worse but I'm devastated. After all the bull**** carry on I do about the missus and the kid and parking miles from anywhere, its me that does the damage. And I just know it is going to come up as exhibit A in the next argument. I kinda wish it was bad enough for a write off. I dont want a repaired car, I want a schmiko virgin car. Its getting assessed within the next 2 days and I'll get it repaired ASAP so I dont have to look at the disfigurement. From the drivers seat I cant see any damage. I'll just approach from the rear at all times.
