Wastegate adjustment rod rattling is not a concern!?

What happens if the rod falls off? Pretty much the boost will be over the tuned pressure will it not?

If it is the problem and VW have the same recommendation for our cars as they do for the GTI, then if/when it falls off it's their problem.

the rattling from the front right engine bay under load which if you have you will defiently know about it. very loud vibrating noise has been found to be the aircon pipes vibrating and rubbing on the body down near the a/c compressor there is a tech bulletin for this but has not been released yet the fix is to bend the pipe away from the body a good 5mm book in with your nearest vw dealer hope this settles some peoples minds as the rattle is very severe

At the risk of offending the author, I'd like to state that punctuation would make this post a lot easier to read, as there is no capitalisation at the start of new sentences, and only one full stop used throughout.

I have called Ferntree Gully, South Yarra, Glen Waverley and Moorabbin today and spoke to the service departments and not a single one said that they had that issue reported to them.

sorry for the poor spelling and punctuation. i am not a school teacher and am only a vw tech in a very large workshop. we have had 3 of these in with this problem 1 being brand new not delivered yet and other 2 with low ks on since they've only been out a couple of months. will try and get a copy of the tech bulletin and post it up. just trying to help you all out and show that it is a major rattle but nothing to worry about seeing the rattle is hard to pin point sounding like its coming from behind the dash and sometimes sounds like its the engine rattling. and such an easy fix.

Ahhh good to see the new Polos have consistent problems like the previous model. Really, one would think that a company like VW would be able to sort this crap out before flogging them off to punters.

I am going to the dealer tomorrow to test drive with someone from the service department for the rattle. Will let you know!

I went to a dealer today to show a service person the rattle. Thank god I was able to replicate it. They didn't say anything about it just that they would have to book it in to look at it. I am booked in for the 28th June so we will see what happens!

Just picked up our Polo 77TSI, has the same rattle everyone else has experienced. I will take it to VW next week and see if I can get an explanation for what it is and how and when they can rectify it.

I suggest you buy a japanese made car if you want minimal rattles and faults
