The only issue is, I can't stand the new door. I swear the metal is half the thickness of the original door. It bends when push it and makes this awful 'clank' noise whenever you shut the door. Sounds like a Corolla! I asked the panel beater and apparently they get their doors from McCarrols. Hopefully yours is different! Let me know!
Sure I'll let you know...I'm chucking a massive spaz right now look at what they did to the bloody car! its not hard is it? repair the known issues, rotate tyres, insert new door trim...DON'T DAMAGE THE FKING CAR!!!
Passenger side front wheel arch:
It's not bloody much to ask VW North Shore, Sydney? You receive a car 100% clean / perfect...and return it damaged!?

That is absolutely unacceptable!! Mate, I really feel for you. How the hell can they stuff up so many things...What was their response when you pointed it out?
Hope you'll get it sorted quick and maybe some form of compensation as wellLast edited by danielv10; 11-10-2013, 05:51 PM.Polo 6R GTI - Candy White | MY12.5 | 5 dr | Weitec Hicon GT | OZ Ultraleggera | SPOC - 1st Four

Seeing as its a Friday they cannot do anything about it today and will inspect it Monday, as for compensation? I know VW North Shore they will simply get it repaired and say "bye on your way, sorry for pissing you off"...They'll get it done across the road for the cheapest price possible / lowest quality (that's if they agree to repair the damage they've done to my car).

I discovered it at home as I do a proper rinse, pre-conditioning of the body, clay bar and then wash the car...but instead I was greeted by a heft bit of paint damage caused by most likely an apprentice mechanic...bloody rookies.

I'm a bit of a PITA when I drop my car off (though I have only had to do it twice). I tell them how obsessive I am with it and that the car is 100% clean inside, outside and underneath other than the one stone chip on the bumper and they will be held responsible for anything else that appears. I offer them the chance to come out and walk around the car with me. I think that puts them on edge a bit so they put their #1 person on it. Thats what I hope for anyhow.

Having the car inspected a Volkswagen North Shore this morning to see how long it will take them to have it repaired and whether they'll give me a loan car (as I need transport to make meetings around Sydney) / pay for the re-application of opti-coat on that part of the vehicle that has to be resprayed...sigh

*Update*
Service manager was a pleasure to deal with, understood my angst and stress with what was done to my car. Front wheel arch respray and opti-coat work to be reimbursed / paid for by VW North Shore.
and the culprit? the copper connection of an air hose used by an apprentice mech who filled the air in my tyres...lazy lazy kids these days.Last edited by Hail22; 14-10-2013, 10:59 AM.

Glad to hear they're getting it fixed and doing the right thing. Still, would be very annoyed at such incompetence and inconvenience put on you again. Hope they'll do more than just 'fix' it for you, againPolo 6R GTI - Candy White | MY12.5 | 5 dr | Weitec Hicon GT | OZ Ultraleggera | SPOC - 1st Four

After this repair is done and I'm satisfied...it'll be the last time I go near a VW centre as the car will be gone in 5-6 months, they've proven how bad their customer relations really is / are.

Yeah I stopped taking mine to VW after the six month 'health check', oil consumption test and a campaign service. Each time came back with more rattles (and bad BO)!Polo 6R GTI - Candy White | MY12.5 | 5 dr | Weitec Hicon GT | OZ Ultraleggera | SPOC - 1st Four

Anyone have the latch for the center console fail?If the answer to the Monty Hall problem was 50/50, the contestant, on average, would win the car 50% of the time simply by sticking with their original guess...but you can only win a one-in-three guessing game 33.33% of the time so it can't be 50/50, can it?

By fail you mean fall off / hang to one side and not latch properly then yeah.
When I took my car in for a service I got my car back to find they had jammed my AUX cable in the latch. As soon as I opened it, one of the plastic clips that hold it in snapped and it fell off.
The latch can be replaced by itself and it doesn't require a whole new centre console.
It was 32$ from memory but I got them to fix it under warrantee because I went to them the day after and told them, was pretty happy with that...
