There is but I'm not in the mood to fork out another 25euro to find it at the minute

    • Let's just say that whatever I try to do, I can't get MDI to work.

      Any ideas anyone?

Any more details for us mate?

        When did it start?
        What devices?

        Stuff like that...

From What I can tell from the photo it looks like it got the artist and song title correct but got the album name wrong (or in this case can't read it as it could be too long or have invalid characters) maybe try a different song from a different artist and try a different device in the MDI port.

Sorry about the lack of info before.

It was working perfectly yesterday with my iPhone 4 but today it doesn't want to work.
I've tried both my iPhone 4 and mum's iPhone 5 (with lightning to 30 pin adaptor) but they both don't want to work with MDI.

Strangely, even when nothing is plugged into the MDI my phone still shows up as being plugged in (but is greyed out) as can be seen below:

In this state, with my phone unplugged but greyed out, the same screen still shows when in the media menu:

I've tried turning the car off and on again, restarting my phone and unplugging cables etc. but to no avail.

          • Sounds like it has glitched and won't disconnect the device. I would say just disconnect the car battery and leave it for 30 mins or try resetting the MDI to factory defaults (though I'm not sure how though).

Ok I'll give it a try.

              • It decided to fix itself overnight. Strange. Well I'm not complaining...

                • The relay probably timed out and reset it or something along those lines. Either way good to hear!

                    • Hate posting in here LOL!

Coming up to my 30k service in a year love driving this machine BUT...

Has anyone ever had a low speed (20KM/h) coasting - car jolting experience?

This morning on the Eastern Fwy, I was just coasting along behind another car in manual mode, gear 1. I took my foot off accelerator and at that point (gear 1 still) the car begun to lurch i.e. kangaroo hoping, revs fluctuating. It seemed that the clutch didn't know whether or not to engage or disengage.

                      Mechatronics on way out experts?

                          • I'm going to say its "NORMAL" (but not how it should be).

The only reason I say this is becuase I have had 3 mechatronics units installed and they all do it (pretty much as soon as they were installed) so its not the mechatronics. I think it's software related or somthing not talking properly.

I usually just tap the accelerator or the brake and it stops it.

Could it be because the speed (20km/h) is around the RPM when the throttle overrun cutout turns the fuel back on ? You did mention you took your foot off the accelerator.

What does the car do when you leave it in D and get down to those speeds and let your foot off the accelerator?

                              • Well I never had the chance to try put it in D mode while this was all happening. Within maybe 5 seconds - (just enough time for me to figure out wtf was going on) without me doing anything, it returned back to normal. I bet my balls that the car was engaging and disengaging the clutches, can replicate the exact behaviour in a manual car.

I don't know if it's because the mechatronics or otherwise could be worn out or was too hot - all I know is this occured after 10-15mins worth of stop/start driving (which has never been an issue).

I'm going in for a service and already flagged it. Burwin have told me they'll look into my DSG (as well as my cold start rattle - camshaft positioner).

MY12.5's fall outside of the recall so this shall be interesting!

                                Thanks folks!
