  • Not so much a problem but my tyre pressure light keeps coming on! So annoying haha.

    • Have you tried resetting the sensor using the button in the glove box once you have pumped up the tyres?

      • Yea do it every time.

Also just an observation but my oil level hasn't dropped much/at all and I'm at 7700km. I remember being told and also reading after a certain number of k's (5000 I think) oil consumption should go down.

Only problem now is the squeaking seats...and yes I have the alacantara seats.

I found if there's a significant difference between tyre pressures (not just low pressure) the light comes up.

          • Windscreen/Rear Window Washer Jets

Is anyone else underwhelmed by the windscreen washer jets? Anyone had an intermittently leaky rear window washer jet?

My windscreen jets spray a fine but non-uniform mist onto the screen and there seems to be a significant amount of overspray that shoots off to either side without hitting anything on the car at all. Basically there is a lot less water hitting the screen than in any other car I've driven and it takes a fait bit of work to achieve any sort of cleaning action.

The rear window jet is the opposite - one very strong stream onto a spot the size of a 50 cent piece but at least the volume allows the wiper to do a decent job with just a couple of passes.

The most annoying thing is that the rear jet seems to leak. Not constantly, but bumpy roads and use of the front wash/wipe results in a trickle of water down the rear window, tailgate and bumper which then collects dust and looks pretty bloody awful.

I'll mention the leaky rear jet when I take it in for it's initial check-up this week but just wondering if the windscreen washer jets are supposed to be as I've described them?

Interesting... Thanks for the feedback ill0gitech, I might get them to take a look at the front jets as well in that case.

Have you tried adjusting the angle of the jets? From factory they can be a bit off but they can be adjusted really easily by hand. Just find them under the bonnet and pull them up or down until they spray on the windscreen.

It doesn't seem to be so much an issue of angle, more that the spray is wide and a bit erratic (a bit like putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose). Maybe a bit of blockage in the jet nozzles? I'll see what the dealer says, but thanks for the idea Alex!

My rear washer still leaks after "being fixed" and it really, REALLY pisses me off.

So it's not just me and my OCD tendencies then?

What was the attempted fix gavs - replacement jet?

                        • No problems with the rear washer thus far, but the front passenger side is like you described it..a bit splashy compared to the drivers side. Will add this to the other things on my list when the next service is due.

Yeah I get what you mean. I seem to remember reading something in the owners manual stating that you must use the VW branded washer fluid for the jets otherwise they'll clog up or something. I've generally used the VW stuff and no issues thus far.

                            • Dont know it the VW washers are the same but I have always adjusted the angle with a pin and just moved it to splash where I wanted it.

Someone more experienced than me will no doubt confirm or deny that you can do that

The rear one can be adjusted with a pin (I think) but the front ones can be adjusted with your finger pretty easily.
