    3. Any cross-wind at the time of the 'test'

Torque Steer will appear when under hard acceleration (for eg). The car will want to pull left under acceleration...due to the increasing torque and load of the motor. Sounds to me like they didn't listen correctly to your explanation, if all they have to offer is "torque steer"
    This exactly +1

    • At 7220km my oil lamp warning is on again! First time it happened was 4200km's! Is it the Perth heat?

      • There has been many threads about this Polo GTI issue........It sounds like to me that Volkswagen didn't fit the correct piston rings so excess oil is coming up the cylinder and oil is being burnt in its power stroke.....Go see a Volkswagen dealership they will be able to help you with the problem.....Some people have had Piston rings changed....others entire engines!

        • Take it back to OPVW. It won't be the first GTI with that issue there.
If Chewy or Seraya aren't there, speak to Ryan Jefferys (SM) or ask to speak with Dean or Ryan in the workshop.

They'll know you will be coming...'cos they read this forum.

          Hi everyone @ OPVW

and the lil' red rocket has gone for a new box of cogs, new ignition key barrel, and new drivers door power window mechanism/motor.

Hopefully will have it back by Wednesday afternoon.

Then we might start 'doing' some things with it.

Bloody hell mate, whats happening with the Mrs car?

If your looking at the ABT mod speak to Tunehouse at Marrickville Sydney NSW (sole importer for ABT goods).

              • My little one has done just over 11000km and overall happy with it, though I have noticed in the afternoon after work it doesn't seem to idle quite right. The start up seems more aggressive then in the morning, it can really rock the whole car around and the needle goes slightly crazy. A couple of times it has even stalled. Taking for a long drive on the weekend, so its just something will have to keep an eye on.

                • My Polo 77TSI stuttered during warm up when i started yesterday. Once the car got warm everything was fine. I think i have seen people talking about this issue before....Is the remedy a software upgrade at a VW dealership?

That's pretty normal. It's called the TSI engine cold start. Pretty rough for the first 10-20 seconds.

If it was doing it all the time then I would be worried.

                    • cool....another issue that i haven't spoken about is gear crunching....when the clutch is fully depressed it crunches in reverse and in first gear...sometimes its hard to get into first gear...normally its smooth but other times it can be rather annoying....was wondering if anyone has found this with the 6 speed manual box.

                      • ^ It may be just that the gearbox is taking a while to wear in if your car is fairly new. The Subaru 6 speed didn't like to be rushed when it was new. Had to hold the shifter in the gate for a bit to give the syncros time to mesh then it would slip in. If it was done too quickly it would grind, did this from cold and after it warmed up 'til it hit around 10000ks. Mainly did it with reverse but occasionally first & second.
I'd still get it checked even if it's just to log a possible fault and give you peace of mind-or not.

                        • Received a Recall notice with regards to Wastegate actuator, Turbo, Turbo Spacer and software bug recall.

Been told cars built between 2010 to December 2011 are the effected party (don't know whether its a TSI/TDI issue only).

                          • That would be the fault that got the missus stranded in her TSI last year!

It's nearly done 30k and noticed the front brakes are screwed. Plenty of vibration under firm braking from speed, can feel it as a passenger as well. She gets a bit excited but is far from a hoon, to do that to factory brakes in a little polo is a joke.

Engine death rattle came back as well, the build quality of these things are rubbish. Never had so many issues with a new car! She's made it clear that there will definitely NOT be another VW for her.

Hail - is this just the TSI and TDI? What about the GTI?

Sorry to raise this but Hail already stated he didn't know if it was a TSI/TDI issue only.
